Road Trip

August 26, 2009 - September 4, 2009
Washington, DC to Orlando, Florida

I've driven between DC and Florida on I-95 maybe 50+ times. It's flat, boring, non-scenic, and a serious pain in the ass with constant construction and just general traffic issues. 850 miles, about 12-13 hours with minimal stops.

I have a little time this trip, so my plan is to wander around in DC and Virginia a little, then take the Blue Ridge Parkway south through North Carolina to the Smokey mountains, catch the tourist scene in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and stop by and see Dolly at Pigeon Forge.

Then down through Georgia with a visit to Macon and Albany, then on to Tallahassee to visit my professional college student son at FSU.

Then back through Lake City and a stop at a nice Mexican restaurant we usually stop at. Then back home to Orlando.

Let's see what happens.
